Now, imagine when you get there the person isn't who you expected them to be. On the contrary, they're really kind of creepy and you just feel unsafe in general. But, how do you get out of a situation like this?
Well, now there's a really slick way of getting out of situations like this one safely and it's all thanks to a clever idea created in a bar in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The bar, called the Iberian Rooster, came up with a secret code for their patrons to utilize if they ever found themselves in an uncomfortable situation.
No matter how alarming the situation becomes, if the patron visits the bar and orders an "angel shot," then the bartender knows that an intervention is needed.
There's a poster hung in the bar that lets patrons know that no matter how awkward the situation is, no problem is too small (or big) for an angel shot. The poster says:
"Is your Tinder or Plenty of Fish date not who they said they were on their profile? Do you feel unsafe, or even just a bit weird? We're here to help. Just go to the bar and order an angel shot."
And the secret code is much more advanced than just the shot. A patron ordering the shot in certain ways will also let the staff know exactly what type of intervention is needed. If you order the shot neat, then a bartender escorts you to your vehicle. If you ask for it with ice, a car will be called for you. If it's ordered with lime, the police will be notified.
What an awesome idea! A situation, handled in a discreet fashion, like this, will conceivably encourage people who find themselves in bad situations to get out of it, without the embarrassment or unsafe feelings usually associated with that.
We've all had our share of awkward dates that we'd have like to escape from, but when it gets so bad that you're at the point of feeling endangered, then there has to be a way out.
With today's technology and social media, meeting new people on line has never been easier. And apps such as Tinder and Bumble have completely changed the way that people date by making it simple to connect with new people that we could possibly have a meaningful relationship with.
But, unfortunately, it isn't always easy to tell if they're actually who they say they are. This is exactly why the angel shot is such a terrific idea.
It's good to know that ideas such as this aren't limited to Florida. Different bars have created their own secret codes to help out patrons if they find themselves in situations that they want to get out of.
It's refreshing to see that establishments are now going the extra mile to ensure that their customers aren't just happy, but safe as well.
What a fantastic idea! What do you think about these new secret codes?
